About Me

“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone.” -Fred Rogers

My name is Amanda Peterman and I am a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist in Kansas. I have maintained a private practice in Overland Park, KS since 2009. Prior to that, I served as the Program Director for a school based therapy program in Burlingame, KS. I am trained in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina. I am also trained in EMDR therapy from EMDRIA approved trainer, Lisa Sager.

I have experience with a variety of struggles such as depression, anxiety, and relational disorders as well as trauma and abuse. I offer individual, couples and/or family therapy, co parenting counseling and mental health assessments to include trauma informed assessments. Therapy approaches are not “one size fits all” so I have been trained in a range of treatment modalities to best suit clients.

Walking with people on their journey towards growth and change is a privilege and one I hope to travel with you.

Currently all sessions are virtual only and I am not accepting clients under the age of 12. Thank you.
